It all began in Peru when the Romani family patriarch, Antonio, an artist of local renown and a specialist in Spanish colonial designs was asked by local collectors if he could refinish vintage colonial furniture. He took the job on and soon gained a reputation for beautiful and authentic restoration of Spanish Colonial furniture. As appreciation of his talented work spread, he gained customers who wanted new furniture to match and complement original pieces. This led to the opening of the first of several shops to build Spanish Colonial reproduction furniture, hand painted Cajamarca style mirrors and accessories. Soon he was joined by other talented family members and a daughter, Flori, who had moved to California and began providing this unique furniture to select collectors and discriminating clients. I have worked with her for nearly twenty years concentrating on a small group of stores and designers, but now we have expanded our manufacturing base to offer not only Spanish Colonial but Tuscan and Mediterranean style furniture to a growing customer base.
